Security agencies scour Islamabad forest for four alleged terrorists

ISLAMABAD: Police and security agencies arrested two alleged armed terrorists during a search operation in the Shakarparian forest around Islamabad, on Saturday evening, Express News reported.

Security agencies, including the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) and police had cordoned off the jungle area around the Islamabad Sports complex as they conducted a search operation. The forest borders the Red Zone. A bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dogs also scoured the area.
The arrested were immediately moved to an undisclosed location in a security van and were being interrogated regarding their suspected accomplices and plans.
The security agencies were tipped off when a woman passing by the area reported the presence of four suspicious men in the area. An anonymous call was also received on ’15′ informing of the presence of the men.
Sources said that a suspicious car was also spotted in the area and a team of security personnel had been sent in its pursuit.
